Farooq Abdullah Voices Full Support for PM Modi Amidst Pakistan Tensions

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah extends full support to PM Modi amidst Pakistan tensions, stating that the Prime Minister's actions should not be questioned.

Jammu-Kashmir: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday openly supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following the recent terrorist attack in Pulwama, amidst rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Abdullah unequivocally stated that the nation needs to remain united and extended his full support to PM Modi.

Full Support to PM Modi

Farooq Abdullah stated, "We have given our full support to the Prime Minister. Whatever steps he takes now should not be questioned. He should do what is necessary for the country's security."

Warning to Pakistan on Nuclear Power

Regarding Pakistan's repeated threats of nuclear power, Farooq Abdullah said that India also possesses nuclear power and has had it for some time. He added,

“We have never attacked first, but if provoked, we also have the full power to respond. May the Almighty prevent such a situation from ever arising.”

Criticism of Congress

Responding to recent Congress posters labeling PM Modi as "missing," Abdullah said,

“Where is he missing? I know he is in Delhi. Nothing will be achieved by such accusations.”

Strong Message to Pakistan

Farooq Abdullah delivered a blunt message to Pakistan on terrorism, stating,

“The Mumbai, Pathankot, Uri, and Kargil attacks all originated from there. If they want friendship, they must stop terrorism. But if they want enmity, we are prepared for that as well.”

What is the issue?

Following the terrorist attack in Pulwama on April 28th, the Congress party accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being "missing" on social media. The BJP responded sharply. Farooq Abdullah has now also refuted this statement.
