A significant counter-terrorism operation is underway in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, involving the army and police. Two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists have been killed so far, with two to three more believed to be surrounded. The gunfire continues.

Jammu-Kashmir: In the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have launched a major operation against terrorists in the dense forests of the Singhpora and Chatroo areas. Two terrorists, reportedly affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), have been eliminated. Two to three more terrorists remain surrounded, and the operation is ongoing. Continuous gunfire is being reported from the area.

Joint Operation by Army and Security Forces

Following intelligence inputs indicating the presence of terrorists in the Singhpora forest area, a joint search operation was launched by the army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF. Upon being surrounded, the terrorists opened fire, prompting a retaliatory response from the security forces. The deaths of two terrorists have been confirmed, while the remaining are contained.

High Alert in the Area, Search Operation Continues

Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and have appealed to residents to remain indoors. Army deployment has been increased, and drones and night vision cameras are being utilized to search for any remaining terrorists hiding in the forest. A high alert has been declared across Kishtwar due to the encounter.

Assets of Pakistani Terrorist Handlers Seized

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken significant action against four Pakistan-based terrorist handlers. Properties belonging to these handlers have been seized in Sopore, Baramulla district, and Awantipora, Pulwama district.

According to a police spokesperson, this action was taken under sections 82 and 83 of the CRPC.

Whose Properties Were Seized?

In Sopore, the properties seized belonged to Arshid Ahmad Tele (resident of Navpora Tujjar), Firdous Ahmad Dar alias Umar Dar, and Nazir Ahmad Dar alias Shabir Ilahi (both residents of Harwan). Approximately 29 marlas of land, covering about 8,000 square feet, has been seized from these three individuals. Land belonging to one terrorist was also seized in Pulwama.

Action Taken After Court Approval

The Jammu and Kashmir Police undertook this action with the assistance of the revenue department, following court approval. All four terrorists had already been declared "Proclaimed Offenders" by the court, indicating they had been absconding for a prolonged period despite extensive police efforts.

Strong Stance Against Anti-National Activities

The security agencies have sent a clear message that there is no place for terrorists—neither on the ground nor within the system. Every link will be broken, whether they are based across the border or their handlers are in India. The seizure of property is a b step in this direction.

Senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, army, and intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the entire operation. Sources indicate that the team executing the Kishtwar operation has received specialized training and is equipped with modern weapons to effectively address any challenges.
