Rajasthan News: Following India's air strikes targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan, security has been significantly heightened in Rajasthan's border districts. In response to the situation, the state government has implemented several crucial decisions impacting daily life. Schools in Bikaner, Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Sri Ganganagar districts have been preemptively closed, and flights from Jodhpur and Kishangarh airports have been suspended.

India's Air Strikes

In response to the recent terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, India launched ‘Operation Sundar’, carrying out missile strikes on terrorist bases in Pakistan. The Indian Air Force utilized the border region adjacent to Rajasthan for this operation, highlighting the state's critical strategic role. Following the strikes, the deployment and surveillance of army and paramilitary forces along the borders have been substantially increased.

Schools and Anganwadi Centers Closed

The Rajasthan government has declared a holiday for all government and private schools and Anganwadi centers in Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Sri Ganganagar districts until further notice due to security concerns. The education department has issued clear instructions prioritizing the safety of children and teachers.

Impact on Air Travel

All flights from Jodhpur and Kishangarh airports have been suspended until May 10th. Four flights from Jaipur airport have also been cancelled. Passengers are advised to check the respective airline websites for updates.

Government Employees Instructed to Remain on Alert

The Bikaner district administration has cancelled all leaves for government officials and employees, mandating their presence at headquarters. The administration is reviewing the situation on a war footing and is prepared for any emergency.

Bunker Arrangements in Border Areas

Citizens of border villages are being relocated to pre-existing bunkers. The government has ensured adequate supplies of food, drinking water, medicines, and other essential amenities within these bunkers. Separate arrangements have also been made for livestock care.

Vigilance of Security Agencies

Intensive monitoring is being conducted at railway stations, bus stands, crowded markets, religious places, and other sensitive areas. Intelligence agencies are also on high alert. The cyber cell is actively monitoring and preventing the spread of rumors on social media.

Emergency Medical Arrangements

Adequate blood banks, life-saving drugs, and medical equipment have been ensured in district hospitals. Doctors and paramedics have been instructed to remain on 24-hour alert.

Administration's Appeal and Guidelines

The state government has appealed to citizens to disregard rumors and rely only on information from authorized sources. Unnecessary stockpiling of food or fuel should be avoided as the supply of all essential commodities is continuing regularly. Any suspicious activity should be immediately reported to the police or administration.
