Shashi Tharoor: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, during his visit to Panama, made a significant statement. He clearly stated that even as a nation that upholds the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, India will no longer turn the other cheek in matters of terrorism. Speaking openly about Pakistan's terrorist plots, he asserted that India will now respond to every terrorist attack. Addressing a gathering at the Indian Embassy in Panama, Tharoor reiterated India's firm stance, emphasizing the country's unwavering commitment to its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
Even Gandhi's Nation Has Limits to its Tolerance
In his address, Tharoor mentioned Mahatma Gandhi's teachings, stating that while Gandhiji always advocated non-violence, today's India is not weak. He emphasized that India will no longer remain silent. Any attack will be met with a b response. He asserted that true freedom lies in being fearless, and India will not allow fear to dominate it.
Exposing Pakistan's Conspiracies
In his speech, Shashi Tharoor directly accused Pakistan, stating that the recent Pulwama terrorist attack aimed to weaken India. He alleged that the Pakistani army and ISI are continuously trying to harm India's growing economic strength and tourism in Kashmir. Tharoor highlighted that the true face of the Pakistani army was revealed when senior military and police officers attended the funerals of terrorists killed during an operation. Furthermore, some of these officers are reportedly on the United Nations sanctions list.
Pakistan's Involvement in India's Operation Exposed
Tharoor stated that when India conducted operations against terrorist bases, Pakistan denied any involvement. However, the presence of senior Pakistani army and police officials at the terrorists' funerals exposed the truth. Tharoor pointed out that one cannot mourn for people they don't know, clearly indicating the Pakistani army's support for the terrorists.
Pakistan's Intentions Regarding Kashmir
Tharoor stated that the Pakistani army aims to weaken Kashmir's economy. He explained that Pulwama, Kashmir, has become so popular that it attracts more tourists than Aspen, Colorado. Pakistan cannot tolerate this and is therefore plotting terrorist attacks in Kashmir.
Gandhi's Nation Will No Longer Remain Silent
Shashi Tharoor reiterated that being a nation that upholds Mahatma Gandhi's legacy does not mean remaining silent in the face of terrorist attacks. He emphasized that any future attacks will be met with a response. He stated that India will now firmly exercise its right to self-defense and punish terrorists for their actions.
A Strong Rebuke to Pakistan on the International Stage
Tharoor stated that India now wants to send a clear message to the world that it stands firmly against terrorism. He asserted that India will not tolerate any terrorist activities on its soil and will respond to any attacker if necessary. Tharoor noted that India's newfound confidence is visible to the entire world.
Revealing Pakistan's True Nature to Foreign Leaders
Besides Tharoor, this multi-party delegation included several other MPs such as Shambhavi Chaudhary (Lok Janshakti Party), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), G.M. Harish Balayagi (Telugu Desam Party), Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejashwi Surya, Bhuvneshwar Kalita (BJP), Mallikarjun Devda (Shiv Sena), former Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and Shiv Sena MP Milind Devda.
Together, they exposed Pakistan's true nature on the international stage. Tharoor stated that India will now expose Pakistan's false statements and terrorist games at every level.
