UPSC CDS 2 Final Result 2024: Aspiring officers who appeared for the UPSC CDS 2 exam in 2024 will be pleased to know that the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the CDS 2 Final Result 2024 on May 23, 2025. Candidates can now check their results on the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.
What is the CDS Exam and its Significance
The Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam is conducted twice a year by the UPSC. Its purpose is to recruit officers for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. After passing the exam, candidates must appear for an SSB (Services Selection Board) interview, and final selection is based on merit.
Which Candidates were Selected?
This result pertains to candidates who cleared the CDS 2 written exam and successfully completed the SSB interview. Selected candidates will join the course commencing in October 2025 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
Selection has been made for the following courses:
- 122nd Short Service Commission Course (for Men)
- 36th Short Service Commission (for Women, Non-Technical)
Medical Status Not Included in the Result
This final merit list includes only the marks obtained in the written exam and the SSB interview. Medical test results are not currently part of this list. All candidatures are considered provisional. Final appointments will be made only after verification of educational qualifications and date of birth by Army Headquarters.
How to Check the Result – Step by Step Process
- First, visit the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.
- On the homepage, click on the “CDS 2 Final Result 2024” link.
- Clicking this link will open a PDF file containing the roll numbers of selected candidates.
- Download this PDF and search for your roll number.
- Save the result for future reference.
When and Where to Check Marks?
According to the UPSC, the marks of selected candidates will be uploaded to the website 15 days after the release of the result. These marks will be available on the website for 30 days. Candidates are advised to visit the UPSC website periodically.
Advice for Unsuccessful Candidates
If you were not selected this time, do not be discouraged. The CDS exam is held twice a year, and you have another opportunity to appear in the next exam. Continue your preparation, study previous papers, and pay special attention to SSB interview preparation.
