76% of Bihar Math Teacher Jobs Awarded to Out-of-State Candidates: Students Demand Domicile Policy

76% of Math Teacher Positions in BPSC Recruitment Awarded to Candidates from Other States. Bihar Students Express Discontent and Demand Domicile Policy Implementation. Student organizations have also joined the movement.

Bihar: The recently announced results of the teacher recruitment examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) have caused widespread disappointment and outrage among the state's youth. Particularly in the mathematics subject, approximately 76% of the 2408 selected teachers are from states other than Bihar. This has angered local Bihar students, leading student organizations to demand the immediate implementation of a Domicile Policy. This information came to light through a Right to Information (RTI) application, highlighting the ongoing fight for justice faced by Bihar's youth.

Dominance of Out-of-State Candidates in Mathematics Subject

Out of the total 2408 mathematics teacher positions in the BPSC recruitment exam, 262 candidates from the general category were selected. Of these, 199, or approximately 75.95%, are from other states. This means only 63 positions were secured by local Bihar students. This figure has dealt a significant blow to the local youth.

Why the Demand for a Domicile Policy?

Bihar students believe that local youth should have a primary right to employment opportunities within the state. A Domicile Policy would ensure that only candidates with permanent residency in Bihar can participate in the recruitment process. This would increase employment opportunities for Bihar's youth and curb the dominance of candidates from other states.

Student organizations are continuously pressing the government to implement this policy to prevent the exploitation of local youth and enable them to secure jobs within their own state.

Student Leaders' Reactions

Bajrang Kumar Bhagat (Jan Adhikar Chhatra Parishad) states that the Bihar government is deceiving the youth. The Domicile Policy should be implemented immediately. Bihar's youth do not lack talent, yet they are deprived of employment opportunities.

Praveen Kushwaha (AISA) said that in the three phases of teacher recruitment, most positions were secured by candidates from other states. Local students have only faced disappointment. Implementing a Domicile Policy is essential.

Kunal Pandey (ABVP) says that the non-implementation of the Domicile Policy is causing injustice to Bihar's youth. Local youth should be given priority in employment.

Lalu Yadav (Chhatra RJD TMB University President) said that Bihar's youth have the first right to jobs created within Bihar. The state government should immediately implement the Domicile Policy.

Dominance of Out-of-State Candidates in Three Phases

In all three phases of the teacher recruitment examination, a higher number of candidates from Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and other states were selected. This is increasing apathy and disappointment among Bihar's youth. This situation is not only affecting Bihar's socio-economic fabric but also demoralizing the youth.

However, the Bihar government has not yet taken any concrete steps towards implementing the Domicile Policy. A dispute continues between political parties and student organizations on this issue. The government should protect the rights of local youth and ensure employment opportunities for Bihar's students. To achieve this, the government must quickly implement the Domicile Policy to prevent such problems in the future and allow Bihar's youth to find employment within their state.
