UPSC Releases Admit Cards for Civil Services Examination 2025 Preliminary Exam

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit cards for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 preliminary exam. Candidates appearing for the exam can download their admit cards from the commission's official website, upsc.gov.in.

UPSC CSE 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit cards for the preliminary examination of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, considered one of the most prestigious exams in the country. This is an important update for candidates preparing for this exam. Candidates can now download their admit cards from the commission's official website, upsc.gov.in.

The UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 will be held on May 25, 2025. A total of 979 positions will be filled through this exam, including highly prestigious positions such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Additionally, 150 positions will be filled for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination.

How to Download the Admit Card?

Candidates can follow these steps to download their admit cards:

  • First, visit the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.
  • On the homepage, click on the 'E-Admit Card for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2025' link.
  • Carefully read the instructions and click 'Yes'.
  • Now enter your Registration ID/Roll Number and Date of Birth.
  • Enter the captcha code and click 'Submit'.
  • Your admit card will now be displayed on the screen.
  • Download it and keep a printout, as it will be required at the examination center.

Information Contained in the Admit Card

Candidates' admit cards will contain the following information:

  • Candidate's full name
  • Roll number and application number
  • Date of birth
  • Name and address of the examination center
  • Date and time of the examination
  • Candidate's photograph and signature
  • Important instructions related to the examination
  • Reporting time and gate closing time

Examination Process – Selection in Three Stages

The UPSC CSE exam is conducted in three main stages:

  • Preliminary Examination (Prelims): This consists of two papers – General Studies (GS) and CSAT. This is a qualifying examination.
  • Main Examination (Mains): This consists of 9 papers, some of which are compulsory and some are optional subjects.
  • Interview: The final stage involves a personality test assessing the candidates' thinking, reasoning, and leadership abilities.

What to Do if the Admit Card Cannot Be Downloaded?

If candidates are unable to download their admit cards due to technical reasons, they should take the following steps:

  • First, ensure that you have entered the correct application ID and date of birth.
  • Sometimes, due to high traffic on the website, the page may take time to load. Try again after some time.
  • If the problem persists, contact the UPSC helpline (011-23381125 / 011-23098543).

Important Instructions for Candidates

  • Carry a government-issued identity card (such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, etc.) along with the admit card.
  • Reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time.
  • Mobiles, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, pen drives, etc., are strictly prohibited in the examination center.
  • Carry a mask, water bottle, and two copies of the admit card.
