AAP Announces Contesting All Seats in Bihar Elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared its intention to contest all assembly seats in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Rajya Sabha MP and senior party leader Sanjay Singh, while in Patna, confirmed the party's decision. He stated that AAP will focus on issues such as education, healthcare, and employment to connect with the people.
Rejection of Alliances
Sanjay Singh categorically ruled out any alliance with other political parties. He clarified that the collaboration with the INDIA alliance during the Lok Sabha elections was purely opportunistic, and AAP will contest the assembly elections independently. He cited the party's solo campaigns in Delhi and Haryana as examples of its strategy for Bihar.
Announcement During Patna Protest
Singh made this announcement while participating in a protest organized by AAP in Patna. He criticized the Nitish Kumar government's policies, stating that a government resorting to lathi-charge against job seekers cannot be considered a government of the people.
Allegations of Atrocities Against Bihar Residents in Delhi
Sanjay Singh also attacked the BJP over the ongoing anti-encroachment drive in Delhi. He alleged that the demolition of slums, predominantly inhabited by people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, is a forced eviction of residents who have lived there for over 50 years.
Appeal to Nitish Kumar
The AAP leader appealed to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to intervene and halt the demolition drive in Delhi if he has any communication with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized that this is not just a political issue but concerns the livelihood and dignity of millions of poor people.
Connecting with the Public Through 'Sandesh Yatra' in Bihar
Singh explained that AAP is conducting a 'Sandesh Yatra' (message journey) in Bihar, comprising seven planned journeys, three of which have already been completed. This initiative aims to engage with the public and explore the party's political expansion possibilities in the state.
Criticism of the 'Agniveer' Scheme
Sanjay Singh also criticized the central government's Agniveer scheme. He questioned the sudden ceasefire announcement when the Indian army was already effectively combating terrorism. He further demanded data on the number of MPs, ministers, and MLAs whose children have joined the Agniveer scheme.
Questioning the Government's Stance on Permanent Jobs
He argued that the central government's claim of lacking funds for permanent government jobs is the reason behind recruiting youth into the army on four-year contracts. Singh highlighted that approximately 1.8 lakh positions are vacant in the Indian army, and the government is opting for temporary employment instead of filling these vacancies.
