Mayawati Urges Fair Census, Criticizes Congress and BJP

BSP Chief Mayawati advises the Central Government on conducting a fair census. She accuses the Congress of delay and questions the BJP's achievements. The party is engaged in election preparations.

New Delhi – Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has cautioned the central government regarding the national and caste census, stating that this task is related to public welfare and should be completed honestly, transparently, and in a timely manner. She not only advised the BJP-led central government but also severely accused the previous Congress government of deliberately delaying the census.

Trust in the Center Expressed

Mayawati stated that the demand for a caste census in the country has been raised for a long time, but this work remained stalled during the Congress government's tenure. She said that now that the central government has initiated the process, it is crucial to complete it on time, impartially, and transparently. According to her, this is not merely a matter of figures; it directly impacts the country's social schemes and policies. Therefore, there should be no negligence or political interference.

Accusation of Delay Against Congress

The BSP chief directly criticized the Congress, stating that important work like the census was deliberately delayed during their time. She said that Congress never cared about the interests of the poor, backward, and deprived sections, and by postponing the census, they suppressed the rights of these very sections.

Questions Raised on BJP's Achievements

Mayawati also questioned the policies of the current central government, stating that the BJP has been in power at the center for the past 11 years and speaks of its 'immense achievements,' but the public will assess how much improvement has been made in the lives of the poor, unemployed, and deprived sections on the ground. She said, "All this sounds good on paper, but the poor and Dalit society feels the real truth every day."

Instructions to Party Workers to Remain Vigilant

Mayawati said that her party will now make its leaders and workers aware of the facts related to the census and caste count. She instructed that every worker ensure that there is no foul play or discrimination in the census being conducted by the government.

BSP Engaged in Election Preparations

Along with the census issue, Mayawati also discussed the party's organizational work and preparations for the upcoming elections in detail. She informed that a round of party meetings and work reviews is underway in various states, including Uttar Pradesh. She herself chaired a meeting to strengthen the organization in the Purvanchal region.

Furthermore, she clarified that the party is fully prepared for the Bihar Assembly elections in 2025, and a ground-level strategy is being developed to ensure a favorable outcome for the party.
