Rajasthan Aims to Lead India's Wrestling Medal Tally in 2036 Olympics

Rajeev Datta, President of the Rajasthan State Wrestling Association, announced an ambitious plan for the 2036 Olympic Games. He stated that Rajasthan will produce the highest number of medal-winning wrestlers for India in the upcoming Olympics.

Jodhpur: Rajeev Datta, President of the Rajasthan State Wrestling Association, announced an ambitious plan for the 2036 Olympic Games. He declared that the state will contribute the most medal-winning wrestlers to India's Olympic team. This goal is not merely a dream, but a key component of the association's strategic plan, being implemented in a phased manner.

This announcement was made during the inauguration ceremony of the Under-15 State-level Wrestling Championship held in Jodhpur on June 12th. Datta stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India is striving to host the 2036 Olympics, and Rajasthan aims to play a leading role in the nation's sporting achievements.

Technology as a Strength: Integrating AI and Video Analysis in Wrestling

Rajeev Datta revealed that a state-of-the-art training center for wrestling will soon be established in Rajasthan. This center will utilize video analysis and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify and address technical weaknesses in wrestlers' performances, thereby improving their overall skill and technique.

Technology has become an integral part of the sport. AI will help us understand the nuances of each wrestler and provide them with international-level preparation – Rajeev Datta

Special Strategy for Rural and Women Wrestlers

Datta highlighted that the association's strategy prioritizes women wrestlers and talent from rural areas. While talent abounds in these sectors, lack of resources and guidance often hinders their progress. The association will now conduct training camps and organize competitions in villages to provide opportunities to every aspiring young wrestler. Our aim is to produce an Olympian from every district of Rajasthan – Rajeev Datta

Connecting Wrestlers with State Government Schemes

The Rajasthan State Wrestling Association will now not only provide training but also facilitate access to government schemes and support. Often, wrestlers miss out on beneficial schemes due to lack of awareness. Rajeev Datta stated that the association will work to connect every wrestler with government initiatives, empowering them economically and socially. Our objective is not just medals, but to develop a b and empowered group of wrestlers.

Building a Strong Foundation Through Competitions

The recent Under-20 competition in Kota and the ongoing Under-15 competition in Jodhpur are significant steps in this direction. These events aim to identify and nurture emerging talent. The Rajasthan State Wrestling Association is ensuring that no talent goes unnoticed or without opportunity.

Datta also mentioned the association's vision of Rajasthan becoming India's wrestling hub in the coming years. Ground-level work has already begun – strengthening coaching, facilities, selection processes, and government support.
