Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Modi Government During Bihar Student Address

Rahul Gandhi addresses students in Darbhanga, criticizes Modi government. He raised issues of caste census, reservation, and the Adani-Ambani nexus.

Bihar News: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, visited Darbhanga, Bihar, on May 15, 2025. He was scheduled to address students at an Ambedkar hostel. However, the administration attempted to prevent him from entering without permission. Undeterred, Rahul Gandhi proceeded on foot and entered the hostel.

Rahul stated, "Attempts were made to stop me, but no force can prevent me from meeting you. I will be among you."

Sharp attack on the Modi government

In his address, Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government. He said, "We told Modiji in Parliament that a caste census must be conducted. Initially, he refused, but under pressure, he made the announcement out of fear. This government is working against the Constitution and democracy."

Rahul termed the government an "Adani-Ambani government," stating, "This government is for the industrialists, not for you. The voices of the poor, backward, Dalits, and Adivasis are suppressed here."

Rahul Gandhi's three major demands

Rahul Gandhi emphasized three key demands in his speech:

1. Nationwide caste census

Rahul advocated for a nationwide caste census, similar to the one conducted in Telangana, to ensure rights and respect for all.

2. Implementation of reservation in private colleges and universities

While legally mandated, the Modi government and the Bihar government have not implemented this provision. "We will exert pressure on this issue," Rahul asserted.

3. Proper utilization of SC/ST funds

Rahul alleged that funds allocated for Dalits and Adivasis do not reach them. "That money should reach you," he stated.

Commitment to fighting for the rights of Dalits and backward communities

Rahul Gandhi said, "You constitute 90 percent of this country's population. Yet, you are deprived of education, employment, and development. Conspiracies like paper leaks, discrimination, and reduction in reservations are underway. But when you recognize your strength, no government can suppress you."

He added, "The Bihar police could not stop me because I have the strength of your support. This is your true power."
