Rahul Gandhi: Pakistan's shelling in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir has devastated the lives of numerous families. To share their pain and assess the situation firsthand, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, visited Poonch on Saturday. He met with the families of those killed in the Pakistani shelling, listened to their accounts, and offered his condolences.

Rahul Gandhi directly interacted with the shelling victims in the border areas of Poonch, understanding their difficulties. He stated that the Congress party stands with the affected families during this difficult time and will appeal to the central government to take swift and decisive steps to ensure the safety and rehabilitation of those living along the border.

Rahul Offers Consolation to Grieving Families

In Poonch, Rahul Gandhi met with families who had lost loved ones in the recent Pakistani shelling. He assured them that he would raise their concerns in Parliament and address the issue seriously. Gandhi emphasized the urgent need for bunker construction and improved security arrangements for those residing in border areas.

Rahul Gandhi stated, "The shelling from Pakistan not only affects families living on the border but shakes the entire nation. We must unite to find a solution to prevent the loss of innocent lives."

Rahul Gandhi Highlights the Plight of Victims in Jammu and Kashmir

The Congress party shared information about Gandhi's visit on social media. On X (formerly Twitter), the party wrote, "Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has arrived in Jammu to meet with the families of those who lost their lives in Poonch due to Pakistani shelling. This visit is a humanitarian gesture to stand in solidarity with the victims."

Jammu and Kashmir Congress leaders and senior party officials accompanied Rahul Gandhi. Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh stated that Rahul Gandhi would also raise this issue in Parliament and demand that the government strengthen security arrangements in border areas.

Rahul's Previous Visit to Kashmir Following Pulwama Terrorist Attack

This was Rahul Gandhi's second visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Previously, on April 25th, he visited Srinagar, where he met with those injured in the Pulwama terrorist attack and their families. He also met with the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rahul Gandhi then stated that the aim of terrorism is to divide the nation and spread hatred. He emphasized the need for national unity in the fight against terrorism and the imperative to defeat it at all costs.

Rahul Gandhi Demands Construction of Bunkers Along the Border

During his Poonch visit, Rahul Gandhi stressed the need for the construction and repair of bunkers in border areas. He stated that those living on the border are constantly at risk and require robust security measures. He also demanded a special relief package for the affected families to help them rebuild their lives.
