Chief Minister Nitish Kumar personally called Vaibhav to congratulate him, saying, "Bihar is proud of you. Keep shining the name of the country and set a new example by securing a place in the Indian cricket team." Nitish Kumar recalled Vaibhav's visit to him on December 12th at Ane Marg, where he had also wished him a bright future.
The Chief Minister praised Vaibhav's hard work, dedication, and talent, wishing him all the best to represent India in international cricket in the coming years.
Festival-like Celebration in the Village
As soon as news of Vaibhav's spectacular innings reached Tajpur village, a celebratory atmosphere ensued. Crackers burst, sweets were distributed, and drums beat in every lane and corner. Villagers proudly proclaimed that their son had made Tajpur famous across the country. Tears of pride welled up in the eyes of Vaibhav's childhood coach, Brijesh Kumar Jha. He said, "From the moment he first picked up a bat at Patel ground at the age of six, there was something special about him."
Today, his hard work has paid off. We dreamt that he would play for India, and today that dream seems very close. Brijesh Jha explained that Vaibhav never shied away from practice. Come rain or shine, he was always the first to arrive and the last to leave the field every morning.
A String of Records
Vaibhav Suryavanshi began his career at a very young age. Born on March 27, 2011, Vaibhav made his first-class cricket debut in January 2024 at the age of just 12 years and 284 days. Now, he has also broken records in the IPL, becoming the youngest to score a century.
Not only the Chief Minister, but other Bihar leaders and social activists also congratulated Vaibhav on this historic achievement. Several opposition leaders also tweeted their appreciation for Vaibhav, stating that "Bihar's youth have no shortage of talent; what they need is the right platform."
