Weather Update: Delhi-NCR will experience dry weather for the next three days, leading to uncomfortable humidity and heat. According to the Meteorological Department, on May 28th and 29th, there will be partly cloudy skies, but no rain is expected. During this period, the maximum temperature may range between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius.
A change in weather is anticipated from May 30th onwards, following this heatwave. Light rain and b winds are forecast for May 30th and 31st. Wind speeds during the storm could reach 30 to 60 kilometers per hour, bringing expected relief.
Delhi-NCR: Two Days of Suffocating Heat Before Relief
The Meteorological Department predicts dry weather with partly cloudy skies in Delhi-NCR on May 28th and 29th. While rain is unlikely, high humidity will increase discomfort. The maximum temperature could reach 40 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is expected to be between 26 and 28 degrees. Air quality may also remain poor, potentially causing respiratory issues.
The Meteorological Department forecasts light rain with b winds for Delhi-NCR on May 30th and 31st. Wind speeds during the storm could reach 30 to 60 km/hour. This is expected to bring a slight drop in temperature and some relief from the heat.
Uttar Pradesh: Rain in Some Districts, Heatwave Conditions in Others
Uttar Pradesh will experience contrasting weather conditions. Eastern districts, including Ballia, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Basti, and Mau, are likely to experience rain with thunderstorms. These areas may also see b winds at speeds of 30 to 40 km/hour. Districts like Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Banda, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Ghazipur are under a thunderstorm warning with lightning and b winds. Maximum temperatures in these areas could reach 41 to 43 degrees Celsius, leading to heatwave conditions.
Bihar: Signs of Partial Relief, But No Escape from the Heat
Bihar also shows signs of partial weather changes. Light rain and thunderstorms are expected in North Bihar, including Patna. However, the impact of rain will be limited, and temperatures in most areas may increase by 3 to 4 degrees over the next four days. Strong hot winds are expected in districts like Purnia, Katihar, Araria, Madhepura, and Bhagalpur. A lightning warning has been issued for West Champaran, Sitamarhi, and Kishanganj.
Uttarakhand: Yellow Alert for Hilly Regions, Heavy Rainfall Possible
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the Garhwal and Kumaon regions of Uttarakhand. Strong winds with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are possible in the coming days. Director of the Meteorological Department, Vikram Singh, stated that winds could reach speeds of 30 to 40 km/hour, and lightning strikes are also possible. Caution is advised, particularly on mountain routes.
Rajasthan: Dust Storm and Temperature Double Whammy
Rajasthan will experience a dual weather impact. While many areas are expected to experience dust storms and light rain, temperatures are also predicted to rise sharply. Dust storms with speeds of 40 to 60 km/hour are possible between May 28th and 29th. The Meteorological Department states that temperatures in western Rajasthan border areas could reach 46 degrees Celsius.
