Sports News: Following the Champions Trophy 2025, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced its new central contracts. This time, 22 players have been included in the contract list, while 5 big names have been excluded. In the new contract list released by the BCB, Taskin Ahmed has been included in the highest grade, A+. He is the only player in this category, resulting in an increased salary and privileges.
Four Experienced Players Included in Grade A
Grade A includes Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mehdi Hasan Miraj. These four players are considered important pillars of Bangladesh cricket and have delivered outstanding performances for the team in recent years. The new central contract includes Nahid Rana, Jakir Ali, Tanzid Hasan, and Rishad Hossain for the first time. These four players have been placed in Grade B and Grade C based on their recent performances.
Five Veteran Players, Including Shakib, Released
The most surprising decision was the exclusion of Shakib Al Hasan, Jakir Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad, Naeem Hasan, and Nurul Hasan from the contracts. The biggest name among them is Shakib Al Hasan, one of Bangladesh cricket's most successful all-rounders. His recent dip in form and a break from cricket due to personal reasons led to his removal from the list.
