Bihar is set to receive a new Vande Bharat train soon. This train will run from Gorakhpur, via Muzaffarpur, to Patna. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate it on June 20th.
Vande Bharat: Bihar residents are getting another excellent rail travel option. From June 20, 2025, a Vande Bharat train will commence operations on the Muzaffarpur-Champaran route. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off this new Vande Bharat train. Starting from Gorakhpur, the train will travel through Narkatiaganj, Bettiah, Motihari, and Muzaffarpur before reaching Patna. Other railway projects will also be inaugurated simultaneously.
Another Vande Bharat Train for Bihar
Travel facilities for Bihar residents are continuously improving. A Vande Bharat Express train is being launched on the Muzaffarpur-Champaran route. This train will commence operations on June 20th, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag it off during a program in Patna. The train will run from Gorakhpur, via Narkatiaganj, Bettiah, Motihari, Muzaffarpur, and Hajipur, before reaching Patna.
More Comfortable and Faster Travel
With the launch of this train, the journey from Gorakhpur to Patna and Muzaffarpur will be significantly shortened. The speed, modern amenities, and punctuality of the Vande Bharat train will provide passengers with a superior travel experience. The train's maintenance will be handled in Gorakhpur, and the necessary preparations have been completed.
Launch of Major Railway Projects
This occasion will see the inauguration not only of the Vande Bharat train but also several other railway projects. These include a new 29-kilometer rail line between Vaishali and Deoria, the export of locomotives from the Madhora Locomotive Factory to Guinea, and the repair of bridges and culverts.
The cost of each project is estimated to be around ₹400 crore. This demonstrates the railway's commitment to strengthening Bihar's infrastructure.
Expansion of Rail Route and New Connectivity Plan
This Vande Bharat train originating from Gorakhpur will pass through Narkatiaganj, Bettiah, and Motihari before reaching Muzaffarpur. From there, it will proceed to Patna via Hajipur, Sonpur, and Parja Dham. This route is crucial for North Bihar passengers, especially those regularly commuting to Patna or Gorakhpur.
New Vande Bharat to Operate with Spare Rake
According to railway officials, the Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Prayagraj Vande Bharat train now comprises 16 coaches. Previously an 8-coach train, the additional coaches will be utilized for the new Gorakhpur-Patna route. The rake has undergone repairs, cleaning, and maintenance. The train will depart Gorakhpur at 6:00 AM and return by 9:30 PM.
Land Acquisition Initiated for Sadpura Overbridge
Plans are underway to construct a railway overbridge at the Sadpura level crossing on the Muzaffarpur-Narayanpur rail section. The Institute of Development Management has submitted a social impact assessment report to the District Magistrate. This involves acquiring 1.39 acres of land. To ensure transparency and fairness, affected individuals will receive appropriate compensation and rehabilitation.
₹85 Crore for Bridge and Culvert Repairs
The Samastipur division of East Central Railway is strengthening infrastructure to launch Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains. ₹85.66 crore will be spent on repairs to bridges and culverts, earth filling, new railway lines, and yard construction on the Muzaffarpur-Narkatiaganj rail section, from Kaprapura to Sugauli. Work will begin from Kaprapura to Jivadhara in the first phase. This project will improve both freight and passenger facilities.
