Rajasthan Celebrates Ahilyabai Holkar's Birth Anniversary with Women's Empowerment Initiatives

The Rajasthan government, led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, today organized a special event in Jaipur to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of social reformer Ahilyabai Holkar.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government launched several significant schemes and distributed benefits to women and girls on the auspicious occasion of Ahilyabai Holkar's 300th birth anniversary. The special event in Jaipur directly benefited over 80,000 women and girls through various schemes providing financial assistance. The state government has pledged to set a new precedent in women's empowerment and education through this event dedicated to women's empowerment.

Special Conference on Ahilyabai Holkar's Birth Anniversary

This special conference, held at the Rajasthan International Centre, was graced by the presence of Union Health Minister and BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda as the chief guest. He lauded the success of the state government's various schemes for women and their positive impact. The event aimed to empower women socially, economically, and educationally.

Large-Scale Scheme Benefits for Women and Girls

During the event, 1,800 women received loans under the 'Lakhpati Didi Loan Scheme', enabling them to pursue self-employment and economic activities. Additionally, 32,755 girls received direct financial assistance under the 'Ladoo Protsahan Yojana', dedicated to their better development and nutrition.

The state government also prioritized education. Approximately 17,000 girls received ST pre-matric scholarships, while 152 girls from sanitation worker families also received pre-matric scholarships. Furthermore, 19,183 female students received fee reimbursements under the Balika Distance Education Scheme to pursue higher education.

Awards and Scooter Distribution to Boost Encouragement

The event saw 6,489 girls receive the 'Gargi Award' and 'Padmakshi Award'. These awards recognize and encourage the outstanding performance of girls. Additionally, 2,000 students received scooters under the 'Kalibai Bhil Medhavi Chhatra Scooter Yojana', addressing their commuting needs to school and college and enabling them to focus better on their studies.

Launch of New Schemes and Expansion of Healthcare Services

To further strengthen women's empowerment, 150 'Kalika Units' were inaugurated. Furthermore, the 'Garbh Ki Pathshala Yojana,' 'Swast Nari Chetna Abhiyan,' and the first phase of the 'Pregnancy Diabetes Management Program' were launched across 4,125 institutions in 10 districts. These initiatives are expected to improve maternal and child health.

A digital coffee table book under the National Tobacco Control Program was also released during the event. Additionally, the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of 4 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Shiksha Vidyalayas and 2 tribal girls' hostels were also held to promote girls' education.
