Rajasthan Royals Defeat Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings, batting first, posted 187 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Rajasthan Royals displayed a magnificent batting performance, chasing down the target with four wickets remaining in just 17.1 overs.

CSK vs RR: In a significant yet inconsequential Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match played at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium, Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets, bringing an end to their tournament campaign. This match was essentially a battle for pride, as both teams were already eliminated from playoff contention. However, Rajasthan showcased excellent cricket, securing a resounding victory in their final match and concluding the season on a positive note.

Chennai's Innings: Middle Order Steps Up

Chennai Super Kings, after losing the toss and electing to bat first, had a shaky start. They lost two key batsmen, Devon Conway (10) and Urvil Patel (0), cheaply in the powerplay. Both were dismissed by Rajasthan's emerging fast bowler, Yuddhvir Singh. However, Ayush Mhatre (43 runs) and Dewald Brevis (42 runs) steadied the innings and maintained the run rate in the middle overs.

Shivam Dube also contributed a quickfire 39 runs, pushing the scoreboard further. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni once again attempted a finishing role but fell short, scoring 16 runs off 17 balls. For Rajasthan, Yuddhvir Singh and Akash Madhwal bowled exceptionally well, claiming three wickets each. Tushar Deshpande and Wanindu Hasaranga took one wicket apiece. Chennai eventually managed a challenging 187 runs for 8 in their 20 overs.

Rajasthan's Innings: Vaibhav and Sanju Secure a Memorable Win

Rajasthan Royals began their chase cautiously. Young batsmen Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal forged a 37-run partnership for the first wicket. Jaiswal played aggressively, scoring 36 runs off 19 balls before being bowled by Anshul Kamboj's straight delivery. Vaibhav then found support from captain Sanju Samson, and together they exerted pressure on Chennai's bowling attack.

Their 98-run partnership for the second wicket swung the momentum decisively in Rajasthan's favor. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 57 runs, while Sanju Samson played a crucial 41-run knock. Ryan Parag again failed, scoring only 3 runs, but Dhruv Jurel (31*) and Shimron Hetmyer (12*) guided Rajasthan home in 17.1 overs.

For Chennai, Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets, while Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad picked up one each. Although it was Rajasthan Royals' final match, and they were already out of playoff contention, this victory provided a respectable end to their campaign.
