Thackeray Cousins' Alliance Speculation Intensifies in Maharashtra

Speculation Mounts Over Potential Alliance Between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray's Parties in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Politics: Recent discussions have intensified regarding a potential alliance between two prominent political forces from the Thackeray family in Maharashtra—Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray's MNS. Recent statements from Supriya Sule, Amit Thackeray, and MNS leaders have fueled this speculation. Ahead of the upcoming local body elections, the question of whether the Thackeray cousins will reunite after years apart has become crucial.

Alliance Talks Intensify in Political Circles

The possibility of a political alliance between Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray is once again under discussion. Uddhav Thackeray recently hinted in media interactions that he and his workers are in touch with the MNS and will engage in direct dialogue in the future. He also stated that they will deliver news directly, not just messages.

Supriya Sule Gives Positive Indication

NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule commented on the matter, stating that in a democracy, everyone has the right to choose their political partners. She welcomed the potential alliance in terms of strengthening the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), adding that the more partners involved, the ber the alliance will be.

Uddhav Thackeray's Response: No Room for Confusion

Uddhav Thackeray stated that what is in the hearts of the people of Maharashtra will prevail. He clarified that there is no confusion between Shiv Sainiks and MNS workers. When questioned about an alliance following a leader from the Shinde faction joining Shiv Sena (UBT), he avoided a direct answer but offered clear indications.

Amit Thackeray Advocates for Open Dialogue

Raj Thackeray's son and MNS leader Amit Thackeray also shared his views on the matter. He stated that discussions about an alliance should occur through direct communication, not just through the media. He pointed out that both brothers have each other's phone numbers and could easily speak if they wished.

Conditions and Suggestions from MNS

MNS leader Prakash Mahajan stated that if Shiv Sena (UBT) is serious about an alliance, Aditya Thackeray should take the initiative and meet Raj Thackeray for discussions. He also clarified that if junior leaders are sent for talks, MNS will send a leader of the same level.

When Did These Discussions Begin?

Speculation about the alliance gained momentum when Raj Thackeray stated in a public address that uniting for the benefit of Marathi people is not difficult. In response, Uddhav Thackeray indicated his willingness to move past old grievances and work towards the state's interests.

Reactions from BJP and NCP Leaders

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that it is up to Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray to decide whether or not they want an alliance; the BJP will not interfere. Similarly, Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar expressed a similar opinion, stating that the decision is entirely up to the two party leaders.
